In the Apps & features list locate Citrix Receiver or Citrix Workspace and click on it; Click on Uninstall; A small pop-up will appear, click Uninstall again. Click the Startup tab on the System Configuration main window. A list of all the startup programs displays with a check box next to each one. To prevent receiver from starting up with Windows, select the check box next to the Citrix Receiver so there is NO check mark in the box. EDIT: A fix for now is to Quit the Citrix Workspace app on the desktop. Before doing so go to the CWA Preferences - Check Show Workspace in.

I've got a connection to a hospital app that doesn't seem to work with the new Citrix Workspace, so all of my computers need to stay on Citrix Receiver for now. We used to have a similar problem and opened a ticket with Citrix. Delete all entries related to Citrix applications. Posted March 31, Pretty annoying and apparently only happening on Mac computers.
